Here are some of the sample sentences I go through in the podcast: 

 

Ich ziehe es vor, ein Bier zu trinken.

(I prefer it, a beer to drink.)

I prefer to drink a beer.

 

Ich ziehe ein Bier einem Kaffee vor.

(I prefer a beer to a coffee.)

I prefer a beer over a coffee.

 

Ich ziehe es vor, in Deutschland zu arbeiten.

(I prefer it, in Germany to work.)

I prefer to work in Germany.

 

Ich habe Deutschland vorgezogen.

(I have Germany preferred.)

I preferred Germany.

 

Ich habe das Auto dem Motorrad vorgezogen.

(I have the car to the motorcycle preferred.)

I preferred the car over the motorcycle.

 

Ich ziehe es vor, heute nicht zu arbeiten.

(I prefer it, today not to work.)

I prefer not to work today.
